Case-specific hospital estimate

Adult Liver Transplant Cost in India

Understand what shapes the quotation and request a current written hospital estimate based on the patient’s medical records—not an unsupported website price.

Solid-organ safeguard

Solid-organ transplantation in India is regulated by THOTA.

Clinical eligibility, donor evaluation, legal review and every required approval remain with the registered transplant hospital and competent authorities.

No organ or donor trade

InMedism does not source, sell, purchase, advertise, negotiate or promise human organs or paid donors. Commercial dealing is prohibited and punishable in India.

  • Kidney, liver and other solid-organ transplantation is governed by the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994 (THOTA), its rules and applicable NOTTO or state requirements.
  • Living-donor identity, age, relationship, medical fitness and free consent must be verified through the authorised hospital process.
  • When a donor or recipient is a foreign national, the registered hospital must determine and complete the applicable Authorization Committee, relationship-certification and medical-visa requirements before transplantation.
  • Deceased-donor registration, waiting-list priority and allocation are controlled by the authorised transplant system—not by InMedism.
  • No enquiry, estimate, travel arrangement or payment guarantees transplant approval, organ allocation, admission or outcome.
Patient advocacy, not price control

Inmedism® may request and negotiate hospital estimates on a patient’s behalf. Hospitals independently set their prices and decide whether to offer any concession. Inmedism® cannot guarantee a particular quotation, discount or final treatment cost.

Published hospital starting referenceUSD 23,000 onwards

Max Healthcare International currently publishes this starting benchmark for the named treatment. It is that provider’s reference—not an InMedism price, nationwide average, guaranteed package or final quotation.

How to interpret “onwards”

A starting point is not a price range.

  • The reference may cover the recipient pathway only and may not include living-donor evaluation or surgery
  • Compatibility work-up, legal review, blood products, ICU/ward duration, dialysis, complication care and long-term medicines may be separate
  • Another hospital may quote a lower or higher amount
  • Currency conversion and provider pricing may change without notice

Why the cost varies

No single figure fits every Adult Liver Transplant case.

Adult liver transplantation replaces a failing or severely diseased liver with a donor liver or an appropriate partial graft. Selection considers disease severity, expected benefit, operative fitness, donor safety and the legal framework, followed by lifelong immunosuppression and surveillance.

  • Recipient and any living-donor evaluation
  • Graft type, surgical complexity and blood-product requirements
  • ICU and ward duration plus complication management
  • Immunosuppression, laboratory tests and long-term surveillance
  • Hospital, treating team, room category and city
  • Complications or changes required after examination

Questions for the hospital estimate

  • Does the quotation separately identify recipient and living-donor costs where applicable?
  • Which compatibility, donor, recipient and legal-pathway assessments are included?
  • Which operation, ICU/ward allowance, graft monitoring and medicines are included?
  • Which complications, dialysis, interventions or extended stay would revise the quotation?
  • How long is the quotation valid and what are the hospital’s official payment instructions?
  • Does the estimate separately identify recipient and living-donor evaluation and surgery?
  • How many transplant ICU and ward days are included?
  • What allowance applies to blood products, high-cost medicines and graft monitoring?
  • Are post-discharge immunosuppressive medicines and follow-up tests included?
Important financial boundary

Hospital treatment payment goes directly to the provider.

InMedism facilitates communication and estimate negotiation but does not receive the hospital’s treatment payment through this website.

InMedism coordination fee

InMedism® charges a patient-coordination fee. The applicable service or coordination charge is disclosed separately before the patient agrees to it and is not part of the hospital’s treatment invoice.

Travel and non-clinical services

Travel, visa, accommodation, airport transfer, local transport, meals, interpretation and similar costs are separate unless expressly included in a written quotation. Applicable third-party costs and payment instructions are disclosed separately before the patient confirms those services.

Contextual guidance

Questions patients often ask

These answers provide general coordination information. Questions about diagnosis, risks or treatment require a qualified clinician.

Ask a different question →
What is the exact Adult Liver Transplant cost in India?

An exact figure requires hospital review of the current case. Procedure scope, hospital, clinician, room, devices, medicines, expected stay and medical complexity can change the estimate.

Will Inmedism® negotiate with the hospital?

With the patient’s authorization, Inmedism® may discuss the quotation with the relevant hospital representative, seek clarification of its scope and request consideration of any available concession or revised estimate. Any revision remains entirely at the hospital’s discretion.

Is the estimate guaranteed?

No. The hospital controls its estimate and final invoice. Examination, additional tests, complications, treatment changes or a longer stay may change the amount.

Does Inmedism® charge a coordination fee?

Yes. Any Inmedism® service or patient-coordination charge is disclosed separately before the patient confirms the service. It is not part of the hospital’s treatment estimate or invoice, and Inmedism® does not collect the hospital’s treatment payment.

Are travel, accommodation and interpreter costs included in the hospital estimate?

Usually not. Flights, visas, accommodation, airport transfers, local transport, meals, interpretation and similar non-clinical services are separate from the hospital’s treatment invoice unless a written quotation expressly says otherwise. Any applicable third-party cost or Inmedism® coordination charge will be disclosed separately before the patient confirms those services.

Should I select a hospital based only on price?

No. Compare clinical suitability, specialist expertise, proposed scope, safety, follow-up and clearly stated inclusions alongside cost.
